The following permissions will be enabled with this new channel level moderator feature:

  1. Moderators will be able to create posts even if the **Deny members to create posts** is marked as **true**.
  2. Moderators will be able to delete or edit the posts in the channel where they are given moderator level access.
  3. Moderators will be able to add or remove members in the channel where they are given moderator level access.
  4. Moderators will be able to pin the posts in the channel where they are given moderator level access.

Aug 12, 2021 — Member Tags 🏷️

New Features 🔥

(2) Member Tags 😎

With this new feature, you can create custom tags for your members which will appear right next to their profile in posts. With an added functionality, you can also show these custom-created tags and their members on the home page. For example: To show experts of your community, you can create a tag called: 🚀 Expert and enable featured: true for it to appear on the home page.

(3) Add GIFs to posts 🎁

(4) Custom Tabs in Member Profile 📑

With this new feature, community members can add custom tabs to their profiles to make them more enriching and informative. Some examples are:

  1. For Fashion Influencer: Adding store collection or affiliated links.

  2. For Content Creators: Add affiliated job posting links

  3. For Book Lovers: Add affiliated book links

(5) Secret Channels 🔐

With this new feature, community admins can now create secret channels in their community. This will be useful when community owners/admins want to create a private channel but also want to keep it secret i.e. it won't be even visible in the left-side navigation for members who are not part of it. It is useful for creating channels of cohorts running in parallel for the same course.

(6) Saved Posts 🔖

With this new feature, community members can save the post from their feeds or channel that they are part of to read later. The saved posts can be accessed from their own profile.

(7) Who all liked this post 🤔?

With this feature, community members will be able to see who all liked a particular post including their own.

Bugs & Improvements 🐞

  1. Deleting the post from feed/home was not working before. We've fixed it and it is working as expected.
  2. Channel selection while creating the post from feed/home was not very intuitive. We've changed the UX based on user feedback.
  3. The post creation bar was earlier showing for users who've created the account but didn't join the channel. We've added a logic that it can only be visible to users who've joined the channel.
  4. The invite page was not working for some time. We've now fixed the issue.

Earlier our invitation mail template was made of plain text and was landing in spam folders of users. We've improved the invitation mail template and also our mail is not getting landed on spam folders which makes it easier for your end-users to join the community.

(4) Post creation from Home

With this release, community members will be able to create posts directly from their personalized feed to any channel that they are part of. It simplifies the post-creation process and makes it a seamless experience for your end-users.

Bugs & Improvements 🐞

  1. There was a bug in our system due to which private channels weren't being created. This has also resulted in our customers' thinking that users can join the private channel without any invitation. We've fixed the bug and private channels can be created.
  2. During user invitation, correct roles were not assigned to invited users. We've fixed it and now correct roles are being assigned to new/invited users in your community.
  3. No data was showing in the card and list view of posts - it was happening only for the Quick Posts and not for the discussion type of posts. We've now fixed this for quick posts also.
  4. And a few minor UI Improvements.
